The Mahan Myth

The Mahan Myth
Mahan Myth is a story from a Persian classic poems by Nizami Ganjavi. It is an attempt to perceive a mystical/epistemological journey in the verses which had happened for a young boy during a night of celebration when he was fully drunken and unaware of himself. I felt what he had seen during his aimless wandering in the vast eternity desert- which is a metaphor for human soul. Chasing the same experience in the contradictory modern aspect of life in Tehran, I noticed it could happen during urban trips via subway. When a person is alone in a train and she/he is just allowed to see a little in the obscurity of tunnels, whereas all people around her/him are strangers, fantasy is what comes to an individual mind. This depiction of a literature theme in a photograph series in a subway and showing a kind of metaphoric journey to inside.
